Everyone says "read your Bible" , but they never tell you what to read do they ? Not very often . Here are some ideas on where to start . a) you can start by reading the Gospel of John (it doesn't have to be all in one day) .Then go start back at Matthew and read threw the New Testament . b) Read a chapter of Proverbs each day (there are 31 chapters so you can do this in a month- you can start on the 1 day of the month with te first chapter) c) read a chapter of Psamls a day . d)Go to your local Christian book seller (if you don't know of one you can check the yellow pages in your phone book) and look for a devotion book . Graffiti for Girls is a good one (for girls-duh!) -by J. David Schmidt with Joey O'Connor . Fifty-Sxiy Days Ablaze -by Ron Luce is a good one for either boy or girl . Acquire The Fire .com has some great devos for you too . Another book that can help you 'get serious' about your walk with God is Live God Loud by Ron Luce . An important element in you Christian life is a 'Quiet Time' . Get up early and spend time with God (maybe get up early and get a shower or breakfast and then do it so you won't fall asleep so easy). To get you into the worshipful mood you can listen to your fave praise and worship song (sonicflood has some good ones). (if you have any suggestions , let me know !) God bless ! Here are some verses for ya! Proverbs 16:3 Put your works into the hands of the Lord, and your purposes will be made certain. 16:9 A man may make designs for his way, but the Lord is the guide of his steps. |
